You Are Not Alone
I’m not sure how your week is going, but I’ve definitely had better ones. Our world is enduring a pandemic because of COVID-19, and most provinces in Canada have already declared a state of emergency. Today, Manitoba, where I live, followed suit. I know many of us are fearful. I am as well. I don’t know how things are going to turn out and I’m most nervous about how long this might last.
All the stress and anxiety has felt like a heavy weight that I’ve been carrying in my chest, but one thing that has given me hope is to know that I’m not alone. We are not alone. You are not alone.
God tells us this over and over again in the Bible. As Jesus commissioned the disciples to make more disciples, He promised them that He would be with them even until the end of the age. The body of Christ, which is the church, reminds us even more tangibly that we’re never alone no matter what wilderness we walk through. It is through the company of the saints both past and present that we are united together as one family.
I could go on and on about it, but this week, I actually asked some of my pastor friends across Canada to demonstrate what this looks like. So don’t take it from me, but take a few minutes to listen to the greetings and encouraging words from these great ministers.
